Freddie Mercury is best known as one of Rock music’s most engaging and flamboyant performers as the frontman for the band QUEEN. Queen had many hits in the 80’s and 90’s including the very operatic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and many more.
Freddie was born as Farrokh Bulsa in Zanzibar, Tanzania. He attended boarding school in India where he studied piano. Later he attended London’s Ealing College of Art where he became friends with many musicians. Freddie Mercury had a 4 octave voice and that helped him stand out as a unique talent in the rock music world and that’s what gave Queen such a unique sound.
Freddie Mercury died of an AIDS-related pneumonia on November 24, 1991 at the youthful age of 45.
